Age: 18 - took admission to undergraduate programmes
I took admission to the B.S. Data Science and Applications programme by IIT Madras and I'm also pursuing Information Science engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering.
I also completed the Foundation Level of the Data Science degree.
I also participated in a Google Cloud Study Jam organised by my college's GDSC and completed the Google Cloud Computing Foundations pathway.
I also qualified for the finals of the CoDecode competition organised by TechFest, IIT Bombay by placing first in the regional round conducted in Bengaluru, India.
The results of the finals are awaited at the time of writing this. (4th Jan 2024)
Age: 17 - preparing for INOI and JEE
I was preparing for the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI) which is a national level competitive programming competition in India for
selecting the Indian team for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). I successfully cleared the Zonal Computing Olympiad (ZCO) and qualified for the INOI
twice, but unfortunately, I couldn't clear the INOI both times. However, I did participate in numerous contests by CodeChef, CodeForces and AtCoder.
In the meanwhile, I also attempted the Qualifier exam for IIT Madras' distant learning program called B.S. Data Science and Applications and cleared it.
With my Grade 10 examinations cancelled due to COVID-19 and delayed admissions to Grade 11 due to the pandemic,
I had a lot of free time. I decided to pursue various other specializations of CS50 itself such as
CS50W, CS50T, CS50G and CS50S
which gave me great foundations in Web Development, Understanding Technology, Game Development and Scratch.
Age: 15 - historic COVID-19 pandemic
I was in Grade 10 when the pandemic hit and a lockdown was announced. That's when I came across a course called CS50 by Harvard University.
I was lucky enough to have online classes for the rest of the year. I spent most of my time during and after online classes completing the course lectures and its problem sets.
Age: 13 - first programming language: Java
I began learning Java when I was in Grade 8 as part of my school curriculum.
I was fascinated by the language and the way it worked.
Hence, I ended up choosing Computer Applications as my elective in Grade 9 and 10.
